Thomas & Esther Austin of New York
Compiler:

The extended family of Thomas and Esther Austin has had extensive presence in New York on Long Island (Suffolk County - Huntington, Amityville, ...); Westchester County (Yonkers, West Farms, Morrisania); and in many Hudson River communities. In 1874, West Farms and Morrisania became part of New York City. Over the last few years, there have been many queries from descendants of this line, many frustrated by not finding their ancestors in the John Austin of Stamford, Connecticut line, whose descendants, in many cases, are lived side-by-side with their ancestors in many of these same Hudson River communities.

This database was created from data originally contributed by Terese Olson, and extracted from the multi-year correspondence of Vernon F. Hall that was recorded in the Notebooks that AFAOA genealogists Edith Austin Moore and Janet Austin Curtis maintained. This latest major update incorporates the well-researched data provided by Stephen W. Henderson of Atlanta, GA. His contribution has added over 320 individuals to the database as well as augmenting many of the records with rich biographic data.

This latest update reflects compiler Stephen Henderson's corrections as well as added details on the Daniel Berry and Edward Ketcham Austin families.

Stephen has agreed to serve as the compiler for this database. Please send all queries, updates and corrections to him.
